I will just cut to the chase.
Graphics : 95%
Now I am sick of people saying its not as good as
VF2. Now, I don't know about your copy of VF2, but mine was plagued with
graphical imperfections. For example, limbs temporarily flickering and
bits of the ring appearing at the top of the screen. I don't see much of
this happening at all in FMM. The clipping of the walls isn't that good I
admit, but the backgrounds leave VF2 eating dust. The resolution is fine
and no real damage has been done to the Virtua characters. Everyone keeps
saying that there is a ton of slowdown. Well I am yet to actually see some
of this. Maybe the Australian version of the game was tweaked slightly, I
don't know but I have found NO slowdown, on any stage, with any fighters.
Sound: 84%
Well the sound/music from VF2 and FV was never great (
notably the speech in VF2 and the music from FV) but it is good. I was
very happy that am2 included the original VF1 music for Sarah and not that
crap remixed version from VF2. The sound effects are great the speech is a
little silly though. What would have made the sound better are a few
screams when major pain was inflicted or KO screams like in Street Fighter
or Tekken
PLayability : 97%
Filth! It plays perfectly.
Lastability : 95%
Now I just want to say to all those people who
say that the VF's can't win against a FV, must be playing a different
game. The characters ( not the kids or sonic fighters) are all evenly
balanced. I can whip any FV with Sarah, Lion, Jacky and Pai, just to name
a few. They may not play like they did in VF2 but get used to them and you
will find that can kick butt just as well if not better than the FV's.
With that said the equality of all the players really does enhance the
long term side of FMM. That and the fact that there are soooooo many
characters.
Overall : 94% (not an average)
A great game. If you have either FV
or VF2 still get this. Be prepared for a bit of change, minute as it is,
you will feel it, and if you were like me, you will like it immediately.
Its only downfall I think is that it has no storyline to keep interest.
