First off, let me tell you that Dragon Force
is an excellent game that I very highly recommend. It's my favorite
Working Designs game since Lunar 2. However, I never ever see a bad review
of it, and there are things wrong with it. A perfect game it is not.
The thing that bothers me most about Dragon Force is that
several of the character designs are recycled. Many of the ninjas,
samurai, spirit walkers and mages look exactly alike, say the except same
things and have the exact same skills. Couldn't you come up with a couple
more character designs guys? Also, some of the music, while well done,
gets tedious. They did help that by having each of the rulers have
different music. And while the game is a lot of fun, the RPG aspect of the
game is very predictable, nothing at all out of the ordinary and maybe
just the slightest bit ... dull. I found myself saying, "Just let me fight
Goldark, I know about the 8 Chosen Ones already!" Also, sometimes I found
that I felt like I had fought certain battles before, and I knew exactly
what I had to do for a crushing victory.
Overall, I loved this game and would recommend it to a
friend in a heartbeat. This review was less than flattering, but I have
yet to play a perfect game. No offense to the loyal Sega fan who wrote the
other article, but no game (in my own twisted and demented opinion) ever
deserves a ten. I would agree with him in his review of the highlights,
and this was just pointing out some of the lowlights. Please don't kill
me. My address is Ak- Khazan@mailcity.com if you feel you must change my
opinion or "berate my family origins."
