Editorial: Pro Netlink

Editorial by Leon Thomas

The NetLink has been given a bad rep. People complain that it just isn't as powerful as a computer. They think "Why buy it?". I'll tell you why. First, the NetLink is a lot less expensive than a computer. Most PCs cost about $2000 while you can pick up a NetLink for $50 at Best Buy. Next is the games. Damn good games, actually. You can get Virtual On, Sega Rally Championship, and a web browser from Sega for $25! What others? Saturn Bomberman is the best Bomberman yet and now, with the NL, you can play across the phones. Duke Nukem 3D is the one of the best shooters to date. Now you can nuke your best friends in a Deathmatch. Daytona:CCE is coming soon and it'll sure to please. Winter Heat is probably going to be NetLink playable too. Next, we come to the web browser. Sure, it isn't the best ever but it can do things some browsers can't. You can send Saturn saved game data through e-mail. If you can't get past one point in a game, you can check out one of the many saved game databases on the Net to get you past that boss, puzzle, or whatever. Lastly, you can chat with any of the 25,000+ NetLinkers in real time on Internet Relay Chat. With a new browser around the corner, the NetLink will become a must-have for any Saturn owner. If you still don't think the NetLink can't bring you to new horizons, I am typing this editorial on my NetLink on-screen keyboard!
