Is The Katana Doomed Already?

Has the fate of the upcoming Sega Katana been sealed already? Because of. . .reputation? If anyone has taken the time to read the facts, theyshould know that if Sega doesn't really screw up soon, Katana will dominate the markets in less than a year. But what about those people who haven't read the facts? How are they going to decide whether or not they want the Katana?

What if someone bought a Sega Saturn previously and had bad experiences, like many owners had? Or what if someone's convinced that nothing can get better than Nintendo or Playstation (let us pray for those who think that)? Katana needs hype to save them, and in order to be a huge success, but maybe they aren't getting what they had in mind.  I know most of us hard core gamers hear the latest news in an instant on the Internet, but we don't represent everyone, or even the majority. There are still many people out there who if someone said Katana to them they wouldn't understand the gravity of that code name. These are the people who in actuality are the majority of video game purchasers, and they need to be made aware of this great Sega machine that is coming shortly.

Anyway, this is the key to the hype of the Katana. Their hype needs to be accessible to the general game playing public. There needs to be television commercials and other advertisements that will at the least make the existence of this breakthrough system become aware to everyone.  Without doing that, the opening day of the Katana will pass by unnoticed, and people will base their buying decisions on past experiences with such things as the Saturn. They won't be aware of the makeover process that Sega has gone through in such a short period of time. So I say once again, has the fate of the upcoming Sega Katana been sealed already. Well, the answer is still unknown. . .
