Saturn: The Bottom Line - Part 2

Well, for those of you who read my first Bottom Line then you know my strong opinons on the next gen consoles.  This time, it'll be more clean cut and calm.  I don't want ANYONE to think I hate Playstation because guess what, I have it!  Thats right I have Playstation.  I had bought Saturn in about April 96 and everything went well for about a year.  Having bought games like Fighting Vipers, SF Alpha, WS Baseball, and Daytona CCE, Saturn was so awesome.  Fastforward to March 97, after watching since Xmas games like Rally Cross, Jet Moto, Destruction Derby 2, and Crash Bandicoot, I was quickly convinced that I wanted Playstation.  It was so cool, all my friends had it and I just HAD to have it.  So, my friend gave me a bargain and I ended up getting PSX and Soul Blade as my first game.  It was a blast.   I totally left Saturn behind getting caught in the media and hype of PSX.  I ended up getting a whopping 13 games for PSX totally eclipsing my Saturn library.  I ended up trading in many Saturn games to get those Psx games.  I then became a Sony gamer.  Now, when I bought Saturn, I was still a casual gamer who still had the mindset of 32x and Genesis in my head (yes I bought 32x).  I didn't know what was what, I just knew after playing Virtua Cop and Sega Rally, I wanted Saturn in 96.  Soon after PSX though, I became more and more knowledgable of the industry and took more and more interest in the consoles.  I was ready to drop the Saturn into the basement until May 97 when Fighters Megamix was released.  I felt strange when near it in my EB.  I don't know why I wanted it but I ended up getting it and Saturn was suddenly alive again.  Fastforward to the Fall with games like Duke Nukem 3d, Quake and Dead or Alive Import, and Saturn was Back!  My point is, PSX is still a wonderful system.  I feel CastleVania SOTN, Final Fantasy 7, and Resident Evil 2 are some of the greatest games ever made.  Thats where the credit stops though.  These games are wonderful because the quality themselves not what system they're on.  What I mean is, look at Japan, they are receiving SOTN and Resident Evil 2 both for saturn, and both versions will be BETTER!  I can also make a strong case that Saturn could handle Final Fantasy 7 EASILY!  It could be better too.  Sony claims ONLY for Playstation when theyre hiding the fact that alot of their exclusives come out on Saturn better.  It seems that Psx is running out on alot of their best stuff like the previous games I mentioned.  Sega has the most entertaining and amazing software in my opinion anywere, bar none.  Of
course, I'm referring to their arcade titles and most of their ports to Saturn.  You can't take that away from Sega, and no, not just because of licensing, but because their heart and souls from the AM divisions went into these games.  Same goes for Sonic Team.  From what I've seen coming from that little black box, they could've squeezed maybe 2 more years out of it.  With what Flux has said about Panzer, and what I've heard about Shining Force 3 and Grandia, this thing's potential is still there.  In my friends exact words, when I see Panzer Saga, I am gonna wonder what the hell did they do to make it look this GOOD?  This guy does NOT get enthusiastic about games either and he's claiming that Saga and Burning Rangers actually have better looking 3d than some Nintendo 64 stuff too, and he loves N64.  When Saturn is completely dead EVERYWHERE, it'll definitely have some good and bad history to it.  Kudos to PSX for having those three titles I mentioned above and some other classics too.  Cheers to a system called Saturn which was not even cared too much about by it's maker Sega and is still many people's favorite.  I might be excited now but when Panzer Saga is released, I think I'm gonna be amazed by this machine and it sure as hell is gonna go out with a bang!  I guess you can tell I like Panzer Saga.  Long Live Saturn!!
