The music is much louder than in most arcade machines, (It's REALLY bad, laughable actually) 2. Much of the background scenery has a tendency to "pop-up" suddenly instead of scaling into view gradually (not really a big deal, as long as you're concentrating on driving) 3. Let's face it...Dayton USA as an arcade machine was/is beyond awesome. (and VERY, VERY expensive) But, But, But, But... Overall, as a racing game, it still kicks a**. I'm a big fan of racing games on various platforms and this is my new favorite. If you liked any of the versions of the Virtua Racing games, then you'll probably really like Daytona. Admitedly, I was unimpressed when I first saw/played it since it wasn't as cool as the arcade version but then I came back to reality and played it...A lot... (To be fair, I haven't played Need for Speed on 3DO, I understand that's really good too) In all honesty, Daytona is the main reason why I didn't return my Saturn (Panzer Dragoon is good too, but it's still just a shooter) Also the fact that Virtua Racing is coming out later in the fall (10 tracks!!!) I think it's the BALLS!!!! I even put the CD in my stereo to blast the course music while I'm hanging around the house. I find myself humming the tunes all the time at work, I just can't get them out of my head. Daytona's music is classic Sega arcade music!! I don't understand what so many people don't like about it. (Sorry, I couldn't resist...) Actually, I believe you only need to place in the top 3 on each track on the "normal" difficulty setting. After you do this, you will then have a choice of two horses amongst the selection of cars in Saturn mode. There is one Brown horse (Automatic) and one grey horse (Manual). You get a brown horse which is automatic and a gray horse which is manual. The horses can cruse at about 200mph. They are fun to play with but kind of hard to get used to. I have not been able to win the beginner course on normal with either horse. I forgot to say you have to beat the expert course on normal and you MUST place first.Subj: Replay?? The colors range dependent upon the cars you choose. So far I have seen pink,orange,black,green, etc.. In either Saturn or Arcade mode if you place in the top three you recieve a new choice in cars in Saturn mode. Although, if you place first in all three tracks (Beginner,Advanced, and Expert in either Saturn or Arcade Mode) you also get a Horse as a car option in Saturn Mode. It is the last car in the choice menu (one left or eleven spaces right). The horse is not depicted, but a caption stating 'horse'. I was surprised I actually thought people were spreading rumors, but it is actually there. Anyway when you do get the horse and place in the top three on any track the replay in the 'Congratulations' screen shows the horse running against the other cars. After you have placed in the top three on any track while you are shown the screen with the car zipping around, press start and you will see the programmer credits and the cars you pass will crash, spin out, or tumble into the air.
