Update: Phantasy Star Online

The latest issue of Famitsu has mentioned that Dreamcast users can play Phantasy Star Online offline. When players are offline, they'll be able to control the main character as the game's AI (artificial intelligence) will control other party members.

The game is not a sequel to Phantasy Star IV, but a spin-off from the Phantasy Star series. But fret not - fans will be able to meet their favorite characters from the series as they make guest appearances as NPCs (nonplayer characters).

Phantasy Star Online for the Sega Dreamcast is scheduled for a 2000 release. In the meantime, you can check out screenshots of the game from our TGS report.
