During his early morning keynote address to 1999 Game Developers Conference attendees, Sega of America president and chief operating officer Bernie Stolar pried back the veil of secrecy that has been surrounding the US Dreamcast launch plans. Pricing and release date details won't be announced until later this spring, he insisted, but that's not to say some juicy details weren't revealed today.

Some software was shown including Visual Concepts' football and basketball titles, both of which will be available at Dreamcast's launch. Also shown were House of the Dead 2, Geist Force, Sonic Adventure, Virtua Fighter 3tb, and Super Speed Racing. Stolar assured that all of these titles will be available at the system's introduction this fall. Sega Rally 2, while not shown, is expected to appear in the lineup as well. We can also expect Soul Calibur, Mortal Kombat 5, Ready 2 Rumble, and a new Castlevania title as well.

On the technical front, it has been confirmed that the US Dreamcast will omitt its Japanese cousin's 33.6k modem in favor of a faster 56k model.

No release date or price has been set to this day. So far the rumors tell us that it will be in September, with a street price of $200.
