Yep, Sega theres your frontwoman, I wont bash Ulala in a fit of
rage anymore, but I already knew this game would not take off,
advertising is good, 'good' advertising is better, 'good'
advertising for a 'good' game is the best. Well I dont need to say
anything else.

Well......for what it's worth, SC5 was the 3rd best
selling Dreamcast game, behind Tony Hawk and Gauntlet Legends. I
was honestly expecting this one to do a bit better -- two of the EBs
and one of the Best Buys here sold out of SC5. The television ad was
terrible and almost completely incomprehensible, but they showed it
a whole lot, so I figured that'd help.
The sad thing (well I guess it won't be sad to you, bastardly) is
that sales will probably only drop off more from here......maybe
it'll get a second life when it becomes a $20 Star title.

Hey, it _is_ #3 on the DC chart... behind Gauntlet Legends. Yes, the
game which has already had its run on the arcade, N64, and PS.
'Cause it's MULTIPLAYER! Remember all those controller ports you
put in, Sega?

Hell so many people dont even know what the game is about. Yes i
like my DC and i like Sega, but i dont give a damn about SC5, and
many others dont either. Americans want fighting, explosions and
bodyslams not dancing

To be honest, while the Ulala character is cool...the game is just
dissapointing. I had a lot more fun with PaRappa, and that in itself
got pretty repetetive after a while.

Am I said? Not for Ulalsk, for Sega? Yes, they need to ditch this
whole pre-rendered ad routine, its lame, and it doesnt give focus to
the actual game. Second arent ads supposed to be funny? Because none
of Segas are. Like most have said, DC can produce eyepleasing
visuals, so why not show it? Hopefully theyll bring Sonic back in
place of Uladas and all will be good in the world again.

I see I'm not the only one not interested in Ulala.
However, I still indend to eventually pick it up, just because
it's a SEGA, innovative game that my wife might just like. Right now
I'm too busy playing the 'real' games, if you know what I mean.

Sonic is not going to get the job done either. It's not 1992...kids
don't line up around the latest Street Fighter II machine or eat up
the latest Mortal Kombat. Face it, Sonic isn't even as close to as
popular as he once was. It's a good title to have, but Sega should
focus more on marketing their sports games, their online network,
and Jet Grind Radio/Shenmue.

Um....sonic is VERY popular. Sinic sold close to 400,000 in japan
and close to 800,000 over here. Almost every DC owner bought Sonic

You guys are comparing game sales of a system that has under 3
million sold with systems that have 30-50 million out there...it's
simply unfair

Hey, Caf, here in the 'real' world, Space Channel
5 is a 'real' game. It may not have blood and gore, it may not have
electric rats, but no matter how you cut it, its still a GAME. I own
it and it was fun. So sue me...

SC5 would make a great demo. The problem is I already have enought
short arcade ports, Why should I pay even $20 for a shorter
experience. Hell at that rate I should pay $69.99 for Gigawing....
We'll at least we all know now how many hip dance crazed gamers are
out there. NONE. I'll buy Am Pro Trucker, Samba Di I forgotti, even
Jambo Safari. But Ulala not for me ok?

How do you know how much Sonic sold in the US?
And, dont hate on Sega for bringing out a wide range of titles.
That's how PSX became popular. I dont remember Parappa selling that
well in stores, but it brought attention to the system. Plus, SC5 is
#3 for DC this week. It's outselling Virtual On.

I'm just saying, I don't think Sega would want to focus their
marketing strategies mainly on Sonic. There is a perception that
Sonic is kinda 'old'. Even Mortal Kombat 4 sold quite well, but
marketing wise, that's not something to focus on. I mean Sony and
even Nintendo (hello Pokemon) have been able to create new
franchises that have had tremendous financial success. Sega needs to
do the same...the problem with Ulala is the game behind the
character really isn't something a lot of people will pay $60 for.

Well if games like Rainbiow 6, and Crazy Taxi which hit #1, I think
its fair. Space Channel 5 is just not an appealing game. It didnt
even break the top 25, that tells you a thing or two.

Here's a hint, if you're a 13 year old prepubescent WWF fan, don't
buy Space Channel 5

Only 1 Dreamcast game in the top 25 and that was way down at #16.
HaHa it looks like sombody is on life support even before the
PS2,Dolphin,and X-Box comes out. Time for a reality check if you
want to still be playing games in 2002 you will only have 3 choices
X-Box, PS2, and Dolphin. Because both the Dreamcast and PC gaming
will be dead.

I see I wasn't the only one let down by SC5.. I honestly did have
high hopes for this game. I own a Japanese DC and planned to import
it, but never did.. I'm very glad I waited and rented the US version
when it came out, because the game's simply not as fun as it looks.
I like dancing games, I like rhythm games, but SC5 just simply
didn't work like I had expected.. For what it's worth, it was a good
idea, just the execution left something to be desired. That
something would probably be "fun"
