 Space Channel 5 Sequel Confirmed

Sega has yet to make an official announcement, but the dancing title is set for a sequel.

January 3, 2000

A couple of days ago, the producers of the recently released Space Channel 5 told the Japanese public that fans of the game will be able to buy four differently colored t-shirts featuring the characters, such as Ulala and some of the more popular aliens.

However, that's not the exciting part. According to one of the members on the development team, the main reason for the t-shirts is that a sequel to Space Channel 5 is more or less definite for later this year. Unfortunately though, the original has not been well received in Japan thus far, with average sales. This could affect the team's decision on whether or not they wish to produce a sequel.

The game will be hitting America and Europe later this year, but details on the Western conversions are thin on the ground. We've had some great fun with our import copy of Space Channel 5, so we certainly hope that Sega will go ahead with the planned stateside release.
