Sonic Adventure: Japanese Re-release
Sonic
Team is preparing to re-release an updated Sonic Adventure to the
Japanese
market
August 25, 1999
At
Sega's Gamers' Day, it was announced that Sonic Team will be
re-releasing Sonic Adventure to the Japanese market in order
to coincide with the worldwide release of the new internet-ready
version of the game. This new, upgraded version will allow for
gamers in Japan to enter the game's world ranking mode alongside
fellow players in America and Europe, as well as allowing them
access to all the downloads planned over the next year.
You're looking at the logo for "kaigai," one of the released
logos for the four newly announced Sonic Team games. Given the shape
of the logo, along with the fact that the term "kaigai" translates
from Japanese to "meeting," people across the 'net have speculated
that the new game may be an internet-ready Sonic Adventure 2.
With yesterday's announcement from Sonic Team, though, it seems far
more likely that the "kaigai" game may actually be the upcoming
internet-ready re-release of Sonic Adventure 1 in Japan.
We'll have to wait until next month to find out for sure, though.
