Sonic Adventure: Big the Cat Multimedia

Contributed By: Fernando Mosquera

Big the Cat, yes, that's right, a big lumbering cat made it into Sonic's new game for some reason or another. Biggie fits well into the story line, but his game play doesn't go at all with the speed of the game. The way I see things, Big's quest is more like a mini-game that has ties to the story, I mean, all he does is fish for that frog of his (and gets it taken away every time he snaps it up!) If the frog is Big's friend, then why doesn't the frog just jump out of the water, instead of swimming around waiting for Big to fish him out? Luckily, the fishing is mildly fun, and once you take the 10-15 minutes to get a hang of it, the frog can be snapped up hook, line, and sinker in a few minutes; any gamer with half a pulse will make quick work of Big's four levels.

Twinkle Park is Big's first level, sadly, it's pretty much like the next two levels, at least as far as game play goes. Bop the three monkeys on the head for coins with your fishing pole, pick up some coins, and drop the line into the water... you'll be catching that frog in no time!

Time for some ice fishing! Break the ice and go at it to get the frog; if you explore the level you'll find some power ups.

Fishing in the ocean is surprisingly similar to fishing in a frozen lake and in a swimming pool; right about now the entire fishing for the frog concept starts to get really old.
