The evil scientist has just released the ominous entity known as Chaos, and plans to find the seven Chaos Emeralds that will make the monster unstoppable. Your mission is to stop the doc and save the world.

Play as the familiar faces of Sonic, Tails and Knuckles as well as a new cast of characters such as the cheerful Amy Rose, the mechanical E-102 Gamma, and the ever so jolly Big the Cat. Join forces to fight a new crew of bad dudes with names such as Rhinotank, Spiky Spinner, and Kiki.

Investigate and explore action and adventure fields that will challenge your senses in this 3D realm. Fight enormous bosses, hatch virtual pets to aid you, gather ability enhancing power-ups, and collect the ever familiar rings in an attempt to stop the evil Dr. Robotnik and his minions.

The game includes 50 levels, bonus rounds, bosses, and minigames. It is also compatible with the Virtual Memory Unit (VMU).

Roots & Influences:

Sonic Adventure is influenced by all of the previous Sonic games, some of which are: Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic & Knuckles, and Sonic 3D Blast. Super Mario 64 is also an influence as Mario, who is Sonic's main competition, received his 3D game years before Sonic. One other influence is the Saturn game NiGHTS Into Dreams.... onic Adventure borrows the A-Life feature from this game.
