New Controller For Space Channel 5?

Sega's sassy music game will take on a whole new meaning if this report is true.

Reports out of Japan are indicating that Sega's Space Channel 5 may be compatible with the foot pad controller set for release alongside Konami's Dance Dance Revolution 2nd Mix Dreamcast Edition.

Apparently, the various buttons on the foot pad correspond to UP, DOWN, LEFT, RIGHT, A, B, and START on the Dreamcast controller. The result? The game would have compatibility without Sega having to actually encode it in.

We'll be getting our own copy of the foot pad by next week, hopefully, and will report back with confirmation (or debunkment) of this story.
