D2 Shock To Make Use Of Modem

Contributed By: Fernando Mosquera

D2 shock, the D2 demo disc that is to be included with the March 11th release of Real Sound for the Dreamcast, will make use of the Dreamcast's built-in modem.

As has been reported before, the D2 Shock disc is Warp's way of thanking its fans for putting up with the game's vast delays - this game has been pushed back so far, that it was originally scheduled for the failed-M2 console! A few engine and game play concept changes later, D2 is finally shaping up for a Dreamcast release in the second half of this year.

The D2 sampler disc, D2 Shock, offers two modes of play: a boss fight against the game's first boss and a snow mobile romp (you'll also be able to view the game's introduction). The snow mobile lets you explore at your leisure or take on a time-trial type course. Each time you finish the time-trial, you'll be given your time and a password, you can then log-on to Warp's homepage and register your time on a ranking system that will be setup for the game.
