Capcom Confirms Power Stone 2 and
More For Naomi
Could a Dreamcast version be far
behind? Details inside.
June 07, 1999
Despite the fact that Powerstone has failed to truly hit
it big in Japan, Capcom knows a good product when they see it, and
is completely behind the recently released 3-D fighter, as evidenced
in a recent interview in the Japanese pub, Gamest.
According to Capcom's Noritaka Funamizu, Power Stone 2 is already
underway, as well as an additional mech combat title which will be
revealed in the near future once certain licensing deals have been
signed. The interview made no mention, however, with regards to the
development of a sequel to the arcade hit Rival Schools 2,
which has been the hot topic in DC rumors mills as of late.
With Power Stone's pending release on the Dreamcast here
in the States, a successful run could very well equal a DC port for
the sequel. We'll keep you posted on any further developments to
that end, as well as details on the new mech title and the status of
RS2. 'Till then…
