A PlayStation 2 and Dreamcast Compatible Arcade Board?

In Japan, anything can happen, and it looks like anything just has happened.

February 4, 2000

Sources in Japan reveal that Yuke's Toukon Retsuden 4, also known as New Japan Pro Wrestling will be re-released to the arcades in improved fashion on a new board called Cyber Lead 2. Here's the strange part. This board is apparently compatible with both the PlayStation 2 and Dreamcast hardware.

We're not fully sure what exactly this compatibility entails, except that one can plug in two DC-brand VMU devices and two PS2-brand Memory Card devices into the board. It also seems that the board will be compatible with controllers and memory cards designed for the original PlayStation.

With the re-release of Toukon Retsuden set for March, we'll have to take a look at this board ourselves to see what all the talk is about. Have the Dreamcast and PlayStation 2 decided to go against the will of their parents and run away as young lovers like in a particularly memorable episode of Flinstones from long ago?
