Sega of Japan is currently working an role playing game that will be playable over the Netlink, yes the Netlink. The game, called Warzz, is suppose to support up to 5000 players at the sametime over some kind of server.
While it is likely Warzz will not be ported to the states, it does make
one wonder about the future capabilities of Netlink gaming. If Sega of
Japan can setup a server that allows 5000 Netlinkers to play a role
playing game at the sametime, what would stop Sega of America from setting
up a server that allows two Netlinkers to battle it out in Madden 98?
Motivation, as in Sega of America has none; sigh. |
