18 Wheeler AmPro Tucker Pulling in to a Dreamcast Near You!

Sega's to follow-up Crazy Taxi in the home market in this interesting truck driving "sim."

April 13, 2000

Sega has seen its fair share of success with a home conversion of the arcade smash Crazy Taxi, so it seemed only natural that their latest coin-op "delivery" game, 18-Wheeler Ampro Trucker would make its way home.

In speaking with Sega representatives this afternoon, we learned that they are apparently thinking the same thing. A home translation is indeed planned, and just as is the case with CT, Sega plans on making some adjustments for the home version to ensure a console-level of replayabaility, such as extra courses, mini-games and other extras.

The game is currently slated for a Q3 2000 release, though no definite date has been set. According to Sega, there is a good chance a playable version will make its way to this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo, so if the title pops up, you can bet we'll be there with full coverage. Until then, be sure to check out our impressions of the Japanese Arcade version here.
