Many people also report that after trying to play ODCM demo discs. In other words, CDRs are no more harmful to the DC than normal GDs. After all, wouldn't audio CDs be harmful to the system too, if CDRs were?

well,my DC hasent broken yet,and ive had it since day 1,while my PSX,broke after a little less than a year, which cost was twice as much when i bought it (300)
so i have a little bigger problem with that, than with a DC breaking, since mine seems to run good as new

Unhappy Uh oh..

That's the warning sign, SPIDERone.. Mine was working 100% fine as it did when I got it a day before launch. Mine just was loading the browser, and BOOM! Motor burnt out!

Better be good to your DC, cause you may turn it on one of these days and find it doesn't work anymore.

Well it just won't turn on at all so its probably a energy problem where one of the fuses or whatever inside are out. When I push the power button the light comes on and then goes off and stays off. Then when i push the power button again the light won't come on unless i wait about 30 secs. So I have no idea whats wrong. I sent it off to Colorado to be fixed which is setting me back 70$ If they can't fix it then they will send me a new one no extra charge

I can't say for sure, SiC, but what you are describing is what a Dc does when the GD ROM drive is blown out. A faulty or just a bad brand of controller will assassinate it, esp. INNOVATION, while in gameplay with more intensive I/O plus more intensive calculations (such as real physics intensive games like flight sims) as compared to other games. Odd brands of Dc controllers although they will say they're compatible with your Dreamcast are not necessarily made well for your Dc and these companies are not held liable for any damages to your console. If this is what has happened to your machine, you must discard all controllers that were plugged into your Dc when the damage occured as the feedback would have damaged all of them. Using any of said damaged controllers in a new or repaired Dc will damage the Dc.

Wow where did you get that info OrinocoFlow, out of a Sega manual or what? Cause it seems to me that kind of info needs to be general knowledge to all DC owners. You would think Sega or the major retailers would want that known so they don't feel oligated to replace the units from no manufacturing faults.
