can someone help me find the original hot deal post on this? I just checked my charge card and found the CC ran charges against my card 2 additional times without my signature AFTER i left the store to effectively charge my card $15 per game. Filing dispute and fraud charges with Card company - but want to warn others.....

aren't you the same person who only got a gift reciept (someone posted in the original thread that the managers kept the real reciept and only gave them the gift reciept)

Frys is commission based... that makes ALL the difference. It's good that we're not commission based though.

Circuit City used to be.

Yes but we're not anymore, so this is invalid for all those (like me) who got hired AFTER it went away.

Haha... smart employees??? At Fry's??? come on man.... not at least at all of the Fry's in my location...

Definitely not all of them. I think they have been getting them from OfficeMax lately. I asked the guy that was in charge of stocking the networking area about a switch and its uplink. He had no idea.

You have been more than fair. I'm surprised that they didn't act on your simple wishes. Take them to the cleaners, and continue to maintain your dignity.

It has been a week since my last conversation with Circuit City's corporate office. I have not received an apology, nor to my knowledge has Circuit City done nothing to prevent this from happening again. In addition to that, after reading many of the other posts in this thread (and the other) it seems that this sort of manager is not unique to my store. What happened to jigglypuffy was absolutely unacceptable (see the original thread to read his story). What happened to me is unacceptable. My choice not to litigate was a personal choice - most people are much quicker to sue.

I've had a few requests for phone numbers. I did not post them originally because I wanted to give Circuit City a chance to make it right. It seems very unlikely that Circuit City is going to do anything. To that end, I'm providing the telephone number for my contact at Circuit City. If you want to sound off to them about this, something that happened to you, or other issues that is your choice.

This number is for the office of the President, Chairman, and Chief Executive Officer of Circuit City, Mr. Alan McCollough. His executive assistant is named Marilyn. The store this happened at is the Lakewood, Colorado store.

804-527-4000 extension 3220

you may want to try the 800 number at

800-251-2665 extension 3220

So you're not going to sue? So what's next?

It sounds to me as though it was perfectly acceptable, since you have accepted it without consequence to CC!

Why am I not surprised...

I hope you really don't expect everyone else to pick up the phone and fight your battle for you!

No offense, but like I said before...milquetoast...

Any result from your police report? Has the manager been questioned, etc?

I agree with galawdawg, I think it's time to escalate this, if it were me, I think the tolerance and letting them come to some conclusion time is over, you've been more than fair, now it's time for a fat lawsuit, that'll get their attention.

I don't think he's trying to get everyone to "fight his battle for him". I personally know of someone that also had a bad run-in with a CC manager. I believe all Undefined is trying to do is encourage others to make themselves known as well.

I'm surprised at all the snide remarks from FWers towards Undefined. What the manager did was unacceptable and in most circumstances would've resulted in automatic dismissal regardless if the customer filed a complaint (especially considering all those who witnessed it). And to all those of you who say he was "trying to take advantage of the store", isn't that what 99% of people do or at least consider on FW? - combining coupons never meant to be combined, requesting additional discounts off of already cheap items, buying items just to resell them, passing around discount codes intended for a small few, etc. Considering he wasn't crying for an attorney from the first post, I'd say his efforts are commendable and I wish him the best of luck in attaining a resolution to this situation.

Sue them. Not for the money (although that would be nice too), but if there's ever a way to make a corporate entity enact or change policies, it's litigation. You wanted change, this is how to get it!

Then why did he include "The store this happened at is the Lakewood, Colorado store" with the CC contact information? Clearly he wants to generate phone calls in support of his particular issue.

Because it was buried somewhere in this thread and not included in the original post.
