Darien, Gore posted all the backstory known on Big Boss so far. Its one reason why I said you'd find out why he changed so much.

Also the reason I asked if it'd be ok to play as Big Boss and then switch to Snake is because alot of people seem like they don't want a Metal Gear unless you play as Snake through the entire game.

This trailer is going to drive me insane! I never expected MGS3 to be so different from the previous two games. Something just doesn't feel right. That character does NOT look like Solid Snake. I'm sorry, but that just does not look like Solid Snake. But I agree with the Big Boss idea. Cause it DOES look like what Big Boss would've around Snake's age. This is just going to drive me insane. I mean, why would Solid Snake eat a Snake? Someone in the GA chat room said eating snakes is a way of survival. Well, unless Snake is stranded in the jungle, I see no reason for him to eat a Snake. My bets are on Big Boss.....

This trailer is going to drive me insane until we get more answers. Why did they have to leak it? It's just going to confuse and torture me until I know what's going on. And after the MGS2 differences between the trailer and full game, we really have nothing to trust. I feel so lost.....DAMN YOU TRAILER LEAKERS!!!

I think I'm going to faint when I see that 30MB trailer. This is really high quality stuff here. I keep watching this video over and over and I'm just in awe as to how well made, synchronized, thought out everything seems to be.

Simple observation: at the beginning of the trailer that is Solid Snake ( look at the mullet and the face and the hair... straight out almost from MGS 2 )... at the end of the trailer we see someone who looks very similar to him, but has no mullet and different hair style and not 100% exact face features ( maybe a bit younger... dunno... )...

I see the same character model at the end. Mullet and all.

Now that you point that out, the guy at the beginning has facial hair, but the guy at the end of the trailer doesn't have any. That makes it very interesting actually. Could it be Liquid and Solidus together? Because the first time Snake even knew he had clones was when he met Liquid, so it can't be with him.

I was thinking the same thing SSx a flashback intro to what led to the creation of BB and his subsequent later actions and then followed up by the conclusion of the patriots story this would be so killer and yeah BB's ranger/special forces, covert NAM backstory and the fact that there is such a thing the "Sanke eaters" plus don't forget the mythical symbol of the snake bitting its own tail from the MGS2 website wich has never ben explained do seem to be to much of a coincidence.

The latin name of the kingcobra is Ophiophagus Hannah, and ophiophagus means "snake-eater". BIG BOSS!! :eek ok I'am reading way to much into this now:p

Probably discussed already, but i think its Big Boss eating the snake and in all of the scenes where snake supposedly has his shirt off. You also see the snake wearing the outfit from MGS2, and i think this is the real snake but the first one we see is BB. :P

Its like Otacon said, its way too confusing from this little trailer. Have they spliced 2 scenes together? One where Snake is actually on the screen and another where its Big Boss so you can't actually tell since they look alike? The trailer still rocks though. :p

And I won't be disappointed if Big Boss isn't playable or if he isn't even in it.

After watching the trailer repeatedly my fav is part is when Snake is firing famas and a missile rise above the trees and detonates.

Beautiful. :( Looks like it was pulled from a 80's Vietnam movie.

That was a flare.

And it was beautiful.

A serpent eating itself is a symbol of immortality and renewal.

As opposed to Sega's mascot which represents running blindly toward a spiked pit.

Panajev's right about bearded and shaven 'Snake'.

I still say the only thing you can date in the vid are the weapons.

Q. Who would voice Big Boss and what is his link to Metal Gear, X Men....and Silicon Knights (not Twin Snakes)?

It could also mean its the end of Snakes missions. And accoridng to Big Boss in MG2, once someone gets a taste of the battlefield they can never leave it. As he says, the loser on the battlefield is just freed from it, the winner is left to live on it and can only be freed by being the loser on the field.

What about the MG game that will come after this one ( on PlayStation 3 ) ? Who will be the star ? Are people ready to renounce completely to Sokid Snake ?

I dunno about the facail hair thing who says the tralier is what happens in chronological order?

I think people are reading to far into it, I just hope it's not Snake is straned in the jungle (What the tralier could be showing) and guess who has to save him...ugh. It's a very little tralier, hell for all we know it could have just been thrown together for the look. IIRC the Trailer for MGS2 showed stuff that didn't make it into the game.

I also thought snakes voice was deeper that yell he let out after the bit the snake was kinda wierd.

One question how long between the first MGS2 trailer to the games release.

It took 2 E3's and a demo before MGS2 was released i rember i was there for both of them and now this one :)

same thing happened with MGS. :P

Kinda OT:: The only thing that this E3 is lacking is Zelda, otherwise this is one Mega-ton E3. :P

But from seeing that trailer its obvious that Hideo Kojima is putting his main fucos on "The Twin Snakes".

Border, rebirth through death has long been an Eastern belief, which is why some find that meaning in the Ouroboros. Interpretation of it is broad.

Time, life continuity, completion, the repetition of history, the self-sufficiency of nature and the rebirth of the earth can all be seen within the circular boundaries of the Ouroboros.

But remember, guys, they were still learning the very difficult PS2 hardware at that time. I think this game will hit before Christmas in the states.

I doubt that Sony has much to worry about from Nintendo........but I would still offer Konami a few million dollars just to call this game Metal Gear Solid 3 -- so nobody would be confused about which system is getting the real sequel ;)

That's assuming that they are both gonna be out this Christmas, though..

I don't see it being released this year. They usually take 2 E3's to hype the game up enough. So I figure they'll stick to that. Plus GT4 is coming out this year, and i'm fairly sure no PS2 game wants to be in the line with that. :p
