Yah but that'd be too obvious to figure out. The original trailers with Snake running in the Big Shell used all the sounds he made, not Raidens. So if that was Vamp they wouldn't give an obvious hint like having you see Snake but having Raidens voice in place.

The game will open with Solid Snake and Raiden jumping from a plane over the jungle. Snake's parachute will open as normal. Raiden will fall into the trees frantically pulling at a ripcord on his chest. The last thing he'll see is, up above, snake flipping him the bird as he floats safely to a clearing. SPLAT.

The story, while wild, couldn't detract from the gameplay. Right? Right.

I'm hoping Kojima does listen to criticism and pull back a bit, to the Metal Gear Solid level of sanity.

I actually loved the complexity and the twists of MGS2's story as well, I really hope they'll not dumb it down because of some ppl's short attention span.

The new variation on the original MGS2 theme is great! I'd buy the soundtrack just for an acoustic lead version of the original score.The acoustic guitar in the opening freaking ROCKS and fits perfectly in the isolated, introspective jungle setting.

He once said that he listens to suggestions, not people telling him what he should and shouldn't do. The sword in MGS2 came from fan suggestions. He posted on KCEJ's MGS2 board that Snake is against using knives/swords, so there was another character that used it. Seems like they've listened to another one here. One of the most liked parts of MGS2 by fans was the part where Raiden and Snake teamed up to fight against all those soldiers. So what does this one include? A co op mode.

True artists follow their gut. I wouldn't be at all disappointed if he continued his preachy, conspiracy theorist plotlines. But for the sake of pacing, they need better balance. I think Kojima knows this going into the third, and that he will deliver.

The trailer looks really nice but you see, I got fooled into thinking MGS2 would be an awesome that involved fighting harriers on bridges and instead it was Titanic has told by Kojima and his 3/4 pound of crack cocaine.


I refuse to be hyped over this trash until it's revealed that the snake model in the trailer is in fact a man named Jerry on a search for his brother Bruce while snake watches from afar. It isn't until later in the game when its revealed that Jerrys' uncle whom you talked to via codec for the whole game is in fact a woman and the whole world is being controlled by aliens , only then will the moon come crashing down upon all.

I doen't he's missing an eye. It's just the lighting and poor compression. Besides, you can only see it for a split second before the logo appears.

It'll still be preachy, thats just MG, but he'll probably tone the story down a bit. He'll obviously do something again that people wouldn't expect. I don't see the Vamp being a playable character thing happening though.

And Vamps not dead, he was only shot, never staked, put in direct sunlight, or decapitated.

Think for a minute folks. In MGS2, one of the biggest story factors(what most can understand, anways) is that you can't believe everything you see online. What if this is a plan done by Kojima to build upon this story point by showing us what "The Patriots" want us to see, and there'll be a totally different looking trailer at E3. Maybe we're being lead to believe this is a leaked trailer. It's just Kojima tricking us using his Patriots theory....

What's with all this, it looks like the same engine crap. Well duh, most sequels do use the same engine (tweaked most of the time) and the trailer is too low quality and shows far too little to tell what improvements have been made. A lot of people dismissed ZoE2 and SH3 in the same way, when they were first shown.

Anyway, my story guess, Snake clone(s), with the 'Snake Eater' title refering to the snake on snake battle between the real snake and other(s). But it's fair to say that after MGS2 anything is a possibility.

I for one hope they keep Raiden in the game though. I think he catches a lot of unnecessary flak by virtue of him not being Snake. Okay it was dissapointing not to have more Snake but overall as a character, Raiden added to the thematic element well and I think Konami's characterisation of a rookie meeting up with a grizzled veteran was more effective than is perhaps given credit for. Taking it to the next game, well I think they could make him less green than before, a bit more badass. Plus if they my hunch of snake clones is correct then having Raiden could open up quite a few twists.

He's a vampire, you can't kill a vampire by shooting him. But during the scene where Raiden is looking his dogtag, look into the background and you'll see Vamp standing by a taxi. It happens fast though.

And I really don't want them to do that clone thing. Not that it wouldn't be cool, its just that this is Kojima, and he'll end up having you kill the real Snake without you knowing it till the very end of the game, or the next game.

Cool. I'm gonna replay MGS2 just to see that.
