This'll be a great system seller for PS2.
Can't wait to play it.

Actually the name "PS2" will be the system seller. Anyways the pics
look alright. With the setting of the game it's not like they have
to make a vast environment or something. Dark and wet is pretty much
it.

Yeah, the PS2 probably wouldn't even need it to sell to casual
gamers in 2001, but the game will certainly help.

I wonder if Konami has other levels in store for us on Metal Gear
Solid 2? I heard they they have many different environments for ol'
Snakey there. When everyone saw that scene with Snake
infiltrating the ship, did it kind of remind everyone of the
massacare on the boat in The Usual Suspects?

yeah, id like to see the jungle-style environments from the NES game
done in 3D with the PS2's power rather than just the same ol'
"gritty, dark warehouse" look from MGS 1, but hey, it is a new Metal
Gear game, i'll take it any way i can.

God dammit, I appreciate you anticipating what will undoubtedly be a
geat game, but saying wow to these graphics, WTF.
Before y'all start yes the game will be great, but from these
pics, and purely being graphics whoreish it's low poly, bland
textured, blocky textured, jaggie for a new game. Great rain
affects, but I'm bored of them.
Still it's my third most wanted game however. Anyone agree
with me?

Like I already said, it looks ok for what it has but what it has it
bland. Dark and rainy, yeah great. That won't get old
I won't pick on the jaggies but I got to say they need to stop
blurring so much in PS2 games.

Sorry, they're trying to convince you not to be interested in the
PS2 so you won't have to come into every thread devoted to its games
and bitch about it.

The jaggies isn't bad at all imo.In fact I see less jaggies in these
pics than the earlier pics imo.The only visual improve HK and his
team need to focus on imo is the texture which I kinda agree with
you on Sticky. How is the characters blocky??

The more I look at MGS:sol pics, the more I lose interest in the
game. It just seem like the same ole original MGS with updated
graphics. I hope they add some new stuff to the gameplay instead of
going the Capcom route with RE.

bizkymo: from various interviews with Kojima-san I've read it won't
be... there are A LOT of different gameplay enhancements, too many
for me to list (especially when I'm feeling lazy).

Yes with greatly increased AI,hiding bodies, don't have to kill
bosses and other crap we probably don't know about MGS2:SOL will be
alot different and alot tougher to beat than MGS.

There's alot of envioroment effects in the game, the lighting
raindrops ect. aren't there for pretty looks they effect how the
game will be played. For example, if you're in first person mode and
you aim up the water rain will splash on your goggles thus blurring
your vision till you shake the water out. With the lighting if you
aren't careful a gaurd and spot your shadow before he even see's you
so he can call for other gaurds, or you can spot his shadow.
